Pre-existing conditions

We get asked a lot of questions about what to do if you take medications and you need to continue taking them in the US. We would recommend you see your GP, tell them you are moving to the US, ask for a prescription to tide you over until you can organize a new prescription in the US. Ask for a letter that states you take the medications and why. Once you are in the US, book an appointment with the on-campus doctor’s office, take your medication and the letter, and ask them to create the prescription in the US.

If you have a more serious condition, such as diabetes, mention this to your placement person ASAP so this can be discussed with the coach in advance.
